Below are the
simple yet very powerful and effective techniques to cut down unwanted calories
and stay slim and trim.
Cut down on
salt:
We’ve all heard
that too much sodium could lead to water retention, making you feel and look
more bloated. Call a ban on salt-laden chips, pickles and other junk food.
However, a little natural salt in your daily diet is imperative.
Guzzle down H2O:
How many of us
follow the golden 8-glasses-a-day rule? You’ve read about it a zillion times,
but do you make it a point to hydrate yourself on a daily basis? To avoid
overeating or emotional eating, drink a huge glass of water about half an hour
before your meal.
Cut down on
whites:
Be it white sugar or simple carbs, they can play havoc with your blood
sugar levels. If your body is used to a sugar rush in your morning tea/coffee
and a carb fix during the day (white bread, rice, pasta, etc.), switch to
natural sweeteners such as honey and jiggery)
Think negative:
The basic
principle to losing weight is burning than you consume. That’s where negative
calorie foods — the ones that get your body to burn those Cs during the
processing and digestion process. Gorge on fruits such as apples, oranges,
strawberries and veggies the likes of cabbages, cauliflowers and onions.
No to passive
eating:
The idle mind is
often the glutton’s workshop. Keep yourself busy with work. If you’re lucky
enough to hold a full-time job that actually leaves with the time to have a
life, use it constructively.
Work that bod:
In case you’ve
been slacking off, it’s time to get back to a workout routine that suits your
personality and work and/or family commitments. Healthy eating and exercise are
an unbeatable duo when it comes to shaping up and staying that way.
Clean it up:
Cleaning your home is a great way to kill two birds — flab and dust —
with one stone. This works especially well when you set out for some mindless
couch-potato emotional eating. Bonus: a spotless living space.
Sleep it out:
You’re often in a crabby mood when you don’t get enough sleep, and it’s
this very mood that could keep you from getting your dose of Zs. Kill the
vicious circle by sleeping at a decently early hour (say, 11ish/midnight) at
the most, especially if you’ve got to be up early for work the next morning. If you follow these routines for 10 days you can see the result reflecting on your body. Just follow these simple steps and feel as fit as you could ever get.
