Have Toothache? Of course, always the answer will be to visit your dentist but this advice
may not be all that helpful when you can’t see your dentist right away and the
pain is unbearable. Here are some methods for getting out of pain from toothache, techniques to reduce the
pain while you wait for your dentist’s appointment. These are simple natural
remedies you can apply for temporary relief from the pain caused by toothache.
Cavities are often the cause of
toothache. The bacteria living in our mouth that thrive on sugary and
starchy foods that cling to teeth and gums, are responsible for cavities. The
bacteria produce acids that damage your teeth and severe condition occurs when
the damage reaches a nerve. Other causes of toothache may be a filling that comes loose, a cracked tooth, an
abscess or a sinus condition. Infection of any kind that reaches the root is
sure to cause pain.
Obviously the ultimate solution to your toothache, whatever the cause may be, is to rush to your dentist.
But in case of not having any immediate appointment, you may try the following
approaches:
Clove oil
Dab some clave oil directly on the aching tooth. Clove oil has bacteria-slaying properties as well as a
numbing effect. The exact from the clove bud contains eugenol which acts as a
local anesthetic. At first it may sting, then you can feel the relief.
Whole cloves
The same numbing effect you can get from the whole cloves. Put a few in
your mouth and let them moisten until they get soft. Bruise them a bit between
your non-aching molars to release the oil. Now you have to hold the soften
cloves against your aching tooth for up to half an hour.
Paste of powdered ginger and red pepper
Take the powered ingredients in a cup and with water make a paste. Roll
a cotton ball in it and now place it on the aching tooth. Avoid contact with gums
as it may cause irritation. You can also try the ingredients separately.

Stir a teaspoon
of salt into a glass of warm water and rinse for 30 second, then spit it out.

A warm, wet tea
bag (black tea) contains astringent tannins that may reduce swelling and pain.
So it is worthy trying.

Swish with a
mouthful of 3% hydrogen peroxide solution. If the toothache is accompanied by fever and foul taste in mouth, It can
provide a temporary relief.

Put 1 teaspoon
of the peppermint leaves in one cup boiling water and steep for 20 minutes.
After cooling, swish around your mouth, then spit it out. It may reduce the toothache.

Simmer one
teaspoon of the powered myrrh in 2 cups water for 30 minutes. Strain and let
cool, then rinse with one teaspoon of the solution in a half cup water five to
six times a day to get rid of toothache.
