Castor oil has natural antibacterial and antifungal properties and is rich in vitamin E, proteins, minerals, and omega 6 and 9 beneficial fatty acids for preventing hair loss. Its ricinoleic acid ratio makes it beneficial to skin and hair loss. Castor oil also has traditionally been used topically for acne and other skin conditions as well as hair loss, rashes and more.

How does it work

Castor oil can be used on the scalp to prevent and remedy hair loss and for several reasons it is effective in this. Its antibacterial and antifungal properties make it beneficial against folliculitus, dandruff and scalp infections and its ricinoleic acid content increases circulation to the scalp and improves hair growth.
Ricinoleic acid also helps balance scalp pH that helps replenish the scalp’s natural oils and some of the damages of harsh chemical hair growth products.

The antioxidant in castor oil support the keratin in hair and helps make hair smoother stronger and less frizzy.

How to use castor oil treatment on hair: Castor oil can be beneficial for hair growth if used correctly. For an all-over treatment only a small amount of oil can be used, only a few drops are needed per treatment, the additional oils are completely optional. It can be used two or three times per week. For maximum benefits, leave the treatment on for several hours or overnight. After applying use a shower cap or towel to avoid getting oil on furniture or a pillow. Removing of castor oil can be difficult. But if you apply a small amount and leave it an overnight, it will result in most of the oil absorbing into the hair and scalp and make cleanup easier.
